Hello Readers! Time for a little news and some comments on last
weekends race.
MONDAY- Well I know the hot topic discussed with my Nascar buddies
at work Monday morning was the red flag (or lack thereof). How
about you? What a lucky break for Matt Kenseth and a dissapointment
for Sterling Marlin. Seems like the red flag has a bone to pick
with Sterling! Another topic being discussed was the post race inspection
on Matt Kenseth's car which was found to be 1/4" to low.
MY COMMENTS: I think that if at all possible, the races should end
under green. The people I feel sorry for are the ones that payed
mucho dinero to see the race and after an exciting day of racing,
had it end on somewhat of a deflated note. Do I think that the
1/4" made a difference in Matt Kenseth's win? I think that Matt had
the dominant car all day and even if the flags had fallen a different
way, he still would have won. That 1/4" may have had a little to
do with the outcome, but it wasn't the determining factor in the
win. I must give a shout out to Kenseth's crew for cranking out
some awesome Pit Stops. That is why they are the Pit Crew Champions.
TUESDAY- Steve Park tested yesterday at Atlanta, and the test session
went well. He turned a lap of 175.560 mph, compared to Kenny Wallace
and Shawna Robinson's identical lap time of 185.418 mph. (Thank you
Nascar.com for that info.) I admire Steve for taking the time that
he needs to recover and not rushing back into the care before he
is ready. I can't wait to see Park back behind the wheel of the
race car again. We Love Steve! More news....Kenseth's team is fined
$30,000 for not meeting the height requirements. COMMENTS: Why is
it that Nascar fines different drivers different amounts for the
same rule infraction? Last year they fined Tony Eury Sr. $25,000,
they fined Kenseth's crew chief $30,000, and I seem to remember
a few years back Jeff Gordon's Crew chief being fined $10,000. if
anyone knows the answer to that question let me know.
WEDNESDAY: Not much racing news today.....but for all of those that
