News And Rumors

Earnhardt in Wax- For all the number 3 obsessed fans, now you can go to Madame Tussauds Las Vegas and have your picture made with a life-life wax figure of the Intimidator.  Cost of the life size likeness- a mere $200,000.  For that much money, I sure as hell the a/c doesn’t go out.

BAM Got Banged- NASCAR handed down a hard penalty to the BAM racing team for a low roof discovered in a post race interview in Michigan.  The crew chief was fined $25,000, driver penalized 25 points, and owner lost another 25.  Ouch!  Poor little Shredder it’s not like he really had that many points to lose.

Evernham turns three- Scott Riggs hired to drive the third car for Ray Evernham.  Valvoline to leave sponsorship of MBV Motorsports and move, too.

The Race

Lap 69- Sterling Marlin brought out the first caution when he slammed into the wall brought out by a possible blown right front tire. Lot of this stuff happened all night

Lap 77–Mears got caught up with Hermie Salders.

Lap 93- Kase of Kahne backed off the gas and got pelted from behind by Happy Harvick.  Junior caught up in the mess got a touch of damage.

Lap 129- Mr. Ponytail into the back of Wimmer spinning him all over the track.

Lap 184-Kid Kyle spins himself.  Nice one.

Lap 211-Rustoleum, not wanting to get freight trained moves down to spin out DJ.  Leaving the 88 with damage and the beginning of a bad attitude.

Lap 238–Rustard then taps Kvapil and spins him out.  Sounds like someone wants to win.

Lap 302-Flyin’ Ryan spins DJ.  Bad idea DJ did not forget and gives the old Bristol pay back a few laps later on lap 318.  Happy Harvick not so happy when he gets caught up in it.  Old men get grumpy at Bristol and DJ gets a two lap penalty.  Best drama of the night, though.

The 29 was up and running needed extra points for the cup race but pouty man already changed and wouldn’t get back in.  Scott Riggs ready to hop in the car but Happy changes mind and comes back out.

Lap ?-JJ off the track with an engine failure.  Needed to finish 27th or better to clinch spot in race…not today.

Lap ? –Flip Edwards gets in the back of Jeff Green throwing him in the wall.

Lap 494 – Flip once again rams the back of a Petty car this time with Kyle.  Young guy gets a talking to after the race.

**Congrats to the 17 team for dominating the entire race and bringing home the checkered flag.  Totally deserved and well executed.  His hopes for the Chase are better than ever!
