Thunder Valley under the Lights!!

Here it goes, in no particular order...

Don:

My picks for Bristol are as follows:

1: Tony Stewart- He's on a roll and runs well at this cereal bowl.

2. Jeff Gordon- Should be my pick to win but my Chinese philosopher says, "Sum ting wong."

3. Jimmie Johnson- Continues to impress and has the potential for a win here

4. Rusty Wallace- He's hongree but not a kid any more

5. Ryan Newman- His performance at Watkins Glen is impressive and he'll do well if his engine holds up.

Rob:

Steve Park has a lot to prove and he has always run tough here. This is his week to put the Pennzoil car back in victory lane!

Rusty comes home 2nd

and 3rd is a surprise, or not really, Terry Labonte!

Alison:

Lat time I picked Rusty, he came home 2nd. And, Rusty dominates Bristol, so it seems to be a good choice. This is my last run at Don for this 2nd segment of the preview contest.

Rusty to win.

2nd will be Mark Martin as he takes over the points lead from Sterling.

and 3rd will be , of course, Mikey!

Lisa:

I have such a love/hate relationship with the August Bristol Night Race, and this is the one race of the year that I take personally. Just like the tempers at the track, my stress level soars for this race. The small town of Bristol TN is host to thousands of NASCAR fans, and my home is host to dozens of NASCAR fans. Doesn't matter who the official sponsor is, it's time for the BRISTOL BASH!

Last week, I finally figured out this picking thing. I put my money where my mouth was, and darned if Dale Jarrett didn't put some money in the pot for Colton Meyers. Total points for all picks came to 1707, so $17.07 is going to The Foundation for Fighting Blindness in Colton's honor.

So this week, I'm going to put the money up again, and pick Colton's driver, Jeff Gordon, to win. Actually it's anyone's race, and totally unpredictable, but I'm gonna sit up on the bandwagon again. Penny a point adds up, so hope every one picks well this week.

(Note: Danny and Rob both agreed to donate $10 everytime Lisa picks the winner. Looks like Colton gets another $20

Danny Z:

Yee haw! Saturday night bullring racin'! This week I'll go with proven talent, new talent, the guy with nothing to lose. Here' my Bristol Trifecta.

Long thought of as king of the short tracks,

1 Rusty Wallace shows why as he leads teammate

2 Ryan Newman to the line, followed by

3 Ricky Rudd, with a new contract in a new car all settled, he has enough class to show his best stuff for RYR.

Check out Ken's guest column and everything else on the main page.

Happy Racin,
Danny Zeeff

Heather:

What can I say? You probably won't believe this, but even I am at a loss for words on what a horrible year the defending Winston Cup Champion is having. If you would have told me at the beginning of the year that Jeff Gordon and his team's performance would be what it has been thus far, I would have said you were crazy. Then again, if you would have told me that Brooke was going to file for divorce in March, I definitely would have thought that you were insane. Go figure, huh?

Well, here we are at Bristol, finally a track where aero doesn't matter - and back to some real racing! The best kind, too: at night! I'm still picking Jeff Gordon. He's always good at Bristol; but then again, considering the year he's having, that doesn't mean much. Like I've said, I will pick him until he wins a race, and then move on to someone else. Hopefully this will be the final week I pick him this year because he'll finally win!!! If not, at least move me up in the points, Jeff! LOL!

SideWays:

Well me and the boys at the shop are glad we're back to Bristol. The most exciting track on the circuit. It's hard to go get a Hot Dog without missing a couple ah cautions! So our advice is to pack your cooler with what you need or get a designated "go for".

While there is only one feud that seems to have quieted down, there will be others starting as soon as the green flag drops. Hopefully all will be short lived and nothing but hurt feelings are the result.

OK lets get to it! He's tanned; he's back in the point's battle and with a new attitude! Number 20 on your program, number one in your heart! Don't leave your seat cause the banging's gonna' start!

"Smoke" 'em if you gottem! (Editor's translation: Tony Stewart)
