Californ-I-A
Here it goes, in no particular order...
Bethann:
This track is FAST, with enough room to go two and three wide. So
It is sure to be an exciting race. Last year the winner was
Rusty Wallace, but I don't think this is his week to win.
My pick is between Kurt Busch, Dale Earnhardt Jr, or Jeff Gordon.
So who should I pick?? Kurt Busch has been wicked fast, and
has been having one heck of a year. Gordon seems to be getting better
and better every week and had a solid 4th place finish at
Talladega this past weekend....And he also has 2 wins at this track,
so that makes him a favorite. BUT I think I am going to go with
Dale Earnhardt Jr. again this week. He loves this FAST track and
showed he knows how to make it around it last year when he
came from a lap down to finish 3rd. OTHER POSSIBLE drivers who could
sneak away with it- Matt Kenseth, Jimmy Spencer ( For
some reason I had to throw a Dodge in there.)
So there you have it! Have a great weekend everyone, enjoy the races,
and lets all pray for a safe race.
Danny Z:
California:
Whoever gets in front stays in front, and this train will be led
by Ryan Newman
My trifecta;
Ryan Newman,
Ward Burton,
Sterling Marlin.
Heather:
Well, I almost won it last week. I picked Michael Waltrip to win at Talladega, and he came in second. Not too bad. Maybe someday I'll actually pick the winner!
I think this weekend at California will belong to Jeff Gordon. He's been running better and better each week, and his team seems to finally be back on track. He finished second in this race last year, and I think he'll finish first this year. So my pick is Jeff Gordon.
Rob:
I still think Tony would have won that race had he not been involved in the wreck.
I am thinking that this week the Ford's and Dodge's will have the advantage. My top Ford pick is Newman or Busch and my top Dodge is Mayfield or Marlin.
So, let's boil it down and say that experience will play a role. With that said:
Jeremy Mayfield
SideWays:
Well me and the boys are struttin' this week! Seems we picked it right with Jr.
but we also know you're just as good as your last pick. Although everyone here thinks they can do no wrong, we'll probably find out right quick.
California! Fontana! OK that's all the nice things we can say about this track. Another very fine ISC entry. NOT! Don't get us started on them Knot heads! Ok we have to choose. Lets see I think it's time to call on our own numerology expert "Lo" Boy.
He says it's a simple matter of numbers. You take the car numbers of this years past race winners to date. You divide by the number of races run to date and subtract the pole winner's average number from the total. Add the number laps run under caution at Bristol, subtract the number of times DW has said "Boogety, Boogety, Boogety". Then you count the total commercials run on any given Race Day. Add that to the total and then divide that by ten.
The number is.........12... OK Ryan go get 'em. Don't you just love science.
Don:
I believe it's time for a turnaround and I am picking Jeff Gordon to win at
CA.
1: Jeff Gordon
2: Tony Stewart
3: Rusty Wallace
4: Jimmy Spencer
5: Sterling Marlin
Don
Lisa:
Lisa is in the process of moving and didn't make the deadline, so we will give her last week's pick again.
Rusty Wallace.
Arnie:
Missing this week.
Charlotte:
Still riding Junior
LAST WEEK"S WINNER- Jim Watt!!:
Ok, here we go again . A track that is owned by Penske, shaped along the
lines
of Michigan, but a little flatter. How do you pick the winner here?
The
"young
guns" are seemingly on the rampage and winning everything in site ! Does
experience mean anything at California? NOPE
So picking a winner? Well this will be the first real test of the
Chevy's new
"Nose job", so it's hard to tell what to expect from them . Since this
is a
west coast track, I gotta stay with the "younguns" and have to watch
Kurt
Busch and his teammate Matt Kenseth. And Dale Jr. is hot right now, but
I am
not convinced Chevy is ready yet.
So I go Kurt ,Matt, and Dale Jr. to
show.
Well thats my picks and I'm sticking with them.
Thanks for letting me have a say
Jim Watt
