The Lady in Black!

Here it goes, in no particular order, actually, we'll let Larry Haseley go first since he got it right again last week. That's 2 for 2 Larry. Can you go for 3??

Larry Haseley:

This is the week for the brothers Burton to battle for the win, with Jeff being the 5th different winner of the year. Following will be Tony Stewart, Ward Burton, Sterling Marlin, and Jeff Gordon will get his 1st top 5 of the season. I would like to pick Ryan Newman, but I am afraid this is not the race to pick a Rookie.

Larry Haseley,
Lockport, NY

Charlotte:

Charlotte did not send in her pick, but I am betting it is:

Dale Jr.

Danny Z:

OK I Know everyone is waiting for my picks so they can see who NOT to put in this weeks Fantasy team. My magic marble says stay away from the Newbees. Darlington chews up inexperienced racers and spits them back out in front of other inexperienced racers to hit. This week I have to go with a veteran trifecta. Rusty Wallace, Sterling Marlin, and Ricky Rudd.

Look for more contact than engine failure this week. The one engine rule may make for some interesting qualifying, but with virtually everyone making the race, conservation may be the key word. Good luck to all,

Danny Zeeff

Lisa:

My predictions this week come from the number printed on the lumber for our new porch. It just happens to be the mill number where my husband works, number 772. Let's see, that could be Dave Blaney in the 77 and Rusty in the 2, or Casey Atwood in the 7, but there is no 72. I'm going to go with experience this week, since it's a tough track, and go with the vetran in Victory Lane, Rusty Wallace.

Bethann:

Well, what can you say about the lady in Black..Respect her or else!!!

Lets see!! The Lady in black has not been to nice to the rookies in the past, therefore I will rule out any of the rookies as race winner.

Jeff Burton won back to back races in '99, but he hasn't been running that great lately. SO...WHO TO PICK, WHO TO PICK. I will pick Jeff Gordon, as much as I hate to even utter that name (sorry Gordon Fans) , I think he is getting a little frustrated finishing behind his ROOKIE teamate Jimmie Johnson.

Others who could possibly run off with the win/have a good finish are Jimmy Spencer (don't ask me why...just got a feeling), Dale Jr. (I wouldn't count this dude out either, he don't particularly care for this track but I feel he may put up a good finish). And I must give a shout-out to Steve Park. It is great to see him back behind the wheel of his car again and I HOPE he puts up a good finish as well to show everyone out there that HE IS BACK! LOVE YA STEVE! Best wishes to Kenny Wallace, THANKS for doing such a great job for DEI and I wish you the best of luck in your Busch ride.

Well thats all folks!! Beth is OUT!

Arnie:

My Predictions for "The Lady In Black":

1st. Jeff Burton

2nd Ward Burton

3rd. Ryan Newman

It seems to me know one loves this place more than the Burton brothers.

Arnie

Heather:

Well, since it seems that my crystal ball ate a bowl of "stupid" for breakfast last week when it told me that Kevin Harvick would win at Atlanta, I threw it out the window! Not only did Kevin not win, but he didn't even finish. So I won't be relying on that dang ball anymore!

So, I'm going to be brave this week and predict who will finish in the top 5. I mean, if I'm going to totally guess about who I think the winner will be, I might as well go for it and pick the top 5! And those 5 are:

1. Jeff Burton

2. Dale Jarrett

3. Ward Burton

4. Mark Martin

5. Ryan Newman

Don:

Don't ask me why but I am going to pick Jimmy Spencer to win Darlington. Last years winner, Dale Jarrett, isn't up to speed this year. A sentimental favorite for the win will be Steve Park but I fear he may be coming back too soon. Those with an outside chance to win are Mikey Waltrip, Jerry Nadeau and possibly Jeff Gordon. Don't be surprised to see Buckshot have another good run but a win is very remote.

Jimmy is hungry and seems to be running pretty well. Daytona was no display of his abilities or his car's strength. The Dodges are strong this year and Jimmy seems to like Darlington and Darlington seems to fit his driving style. I just hope he doesn't smile in victory lane unless he's been to the dentist.

Rob:

This track is tough and I think the rookies may surprise us, but I feel that at the end of the day, the veterans will be there. With that said I am going to throw out a name and see what the response is:

Ricky Craven!

Yes, I think Ricky will take this one, he will be followed across the line by Stewart and Jarrett.

Call me crazy, but thats what I think.... I'll get one right one of these days.

LAST WEEK"S WINNER- Wayne Johnson!!:

I think this is the week that the 4 time champ gets out of the slump he's in, # 24 wins darlington. Now i got to put a ford for 2nd since they have the better track record there so i'm gonna take Dale jarrett for the 2nd place finish,Followed by sterling marlin 3rd, ward burton 4th.

Summary:

Larry Haseley came on last week as the past winner and earned his stay with another correct pick. could he go three in a row? Can the ITPB staff get one right? I see Spencer called out a couple times.... We shall see....
