Loudon (I hate this track)

Here it goes...

Ken:

1. Jeff Gordon - I hate to admit that I would be caught dead predicting that "Goody Two Shoes" would win anything but, after his 1st DNF in 56 races and a horrible 43 points at RIR, Gordon and Loomis are within sight of another championship and "Jeffey" generally does well at NHIS,

2. Tony Stewart - With ten races still remaining at tracks where he has previously done well, including at least one win at 6 of the 10 tracks, NHIS is the crossroads of the season for Tony. Tony is coming off three races where he has traditionally done extremely well but at Bristol and RIR he came away with only at 24th and 30th place with an 8th sandwiched in-between at Darlington. Those results won't win championships. Another lackluster finish at NHIS may doom Tony's championship chase for 2002….look for Tony and the #20 car to rise to the occasion.

3. Ryan Newman - The tougher and slicker the track the better this young kid does. Newman's 1st win at New Hampshire is a distinct possibility but a top 5 finish …again, is my prediction.

4. Jeff Burton - If he can stay out of trouble, Burton's overall record at NHIS is tops.

5. Mark Martin - I don't expect a win, but Mark Martin, who is only 9 points out of the Winston Cup Championship lead and in his best position at winning the crown, will bring home a top five finish and take over the lead in the overall championship.

Possible Top Five Longshots - Todd Bodine, Jeff Green, "Mr. Excitement"

SideWays:

Well me and the boys did all right on our fantasy picks last week. We also didn’t do too badly in picking Jr. to win, although there for awhile we thought that old nagging problem with this team would be it’s demise.

Jr. has been trying to quell the problems with the Eurys, but in my opinion it will never be fixed but only patched. Thereby a run for the championship is highly remote under present conditions.

OK lets get to the Bahre’s. The last time we were here this place was like racing in a greasy parking lot. While a lot of drivers said otherwise, NASCAR told the Bahre’s to just wait and see if things will get better with cooler temperatures. Wait and see?

Hey no problem. Heck it’s just a bunch of sheet metal…and maybe a few frayed nerves. GOD FORBID THAT SOMEONE MIGHT GET HURT!

A little advise to Bob Bahre. Shut UP! Your track was a piece of crap the last time we were here and if it is again there should be a driver revolt! Personally we think it’s time for the people that put on the show to step up and be counted. Not NASCAR, but the Drivers, owners and sponsors!

Where were we…oh yeah…Jimmy Johnson to win.

Heather:

Here we are, back again (already) at New Hampshire – the track that is a piece of…junk! I kid because I care!

Geez; I don’t know who to pick to win this race. Considering the track conditions last time, it’s impossible to predict who will be in Victory Lane on Sunday (especially if the track hasn’t changed any).

So I’ll just pick Tony Stewart, since he seems to like the place so much – sarcasm emphasized.

Don:

Since I have never liked this poor excuse for a race track I find it hard to use any logic or past performance to base my picks on. The last race saw some good cars and good drivers eliminated by bad track conditions. Let's hope things go a little better this time and I pick as follows:

1: Jeff Gordon

2: Robby Gordon

3: Ryan Newman

4. Jeff Green

5. Jeff Burton

Maybe we can call it the Gordon's and Jeff's 300

Don

Rob:

Ok, I didn't pick Steve and he finished 11th. Thanks to Arnie, I am not last this time, but close. For being a NASCAR genius, I am sucking at this. However, in our Fantasy League on ESPN.com, I am first!!! I'll have teh charts up this weekend so you can all see how great I am!!!

On to the race. This track is junk and so will be the race.

The Survivor, uh, winner will be Dale Jarrett

Rudd in a close 2nd

and Rusty closing out the Ford sweep.

Alison:

This week, I am sticking with Rusty. I think he can outwit the track and come home with a victory.

Mark Martin for 2nd

And 3rd should, of course, is Mikey.

Bethann:

I hate going to Loudon, maybe it's just the loss of two of our racers there that makes me dislike it so much. In any case I praise the Bahres for doing all they possibly can to make the racing there competitive and safe. They wanted to put the SAFER walls in but NASCAR has yet to approve it. I hope NASCAR gets moving cause we need to see this at every track on the circut in the NEAR future. Ok Now that I've stepped down off my soap box, it's time for my picks. So here goes:

I'm not really sure who to pick so here's who I think will do well. ..Both Gordons, Craven, Newman, and Jarrett. Who am I going to pick out of those drivers. Well I think I will go with Jeff Gordon. He seems to do well on this track, and he can smell that championship. If he doesn't win, I hope he at least gets me some good points. Go Jeffy Boy!

Arnie:

Great Picks for N.H.I.R.!

I really have a stong feeling about Kurt Busch in this race but I am going to pick Mark Martin to win because he is hungry to win the championship. He knows he can take over the points lead and really wants it. Kurt will follow in 2nd.

Bill Elliott will be strong again this weekend and finish 3rd. followed by Matt Kenseth and Sterling Marlin in 5th.

That's the way I see 'em.

LAST WEEK"S WINNER- Tyler Stevens:

Hey, I'm famous! Now let's see if I can do this without looking the fool

Tony Stewart will avenge the summer race and win this thing.

I think Rudd will bounce back from his "spat" with his crew member and pull 2nd.

I can think of about 6 guys that should be 3rd, but I think we will see Jeff Green with another strong run.
