Everything is Faster in Texas!

Here it goes, in no particular order...

Arnie:

Here they are...Jimmy Spencer to win

Kurt Busch

Sterling Marlin

Good luck everyone else, but this is a winner!

Bethann:

My Prediction to win is Dale Earnhardt Jr.

Dale Jr. has taken a liking to this track, and I look for him to take the checkered flag this weekend. He has been strong over the past four races, and I think that this may be is week. Just call him "Mr. Texas" With his first Busch win, and Winston Cup win coming at Texas, how can you not pick him as a favorite!

Others that have a good chance to take the win/finish well: Ryan Newman, Sterling Marlin, and maybe Tony Stewart (don't ask me why, just a gut feeling). If you feel the need for speed Texas is the track for you..Be sure to watch! It is going to be an interesting race.

Danny Z:

Texas is all about speed, and speed is all about Dodges so far. It's only Tuesday and Nascar could throw a wrench into it.

But, my trifecta for Texas is; Ward Burton, Sterling Marlin, with Texas Terry placing a surprising third just to give the home folks a thrill.

Heather:

Since I haven't had any luck predicting the top 5 over the last few weeks, I'm just going to predict who I think will win this weekend instead. The odds are much better that way!

I'm going with who seems to be the favorite: I think this will be the weekend that Dale Earnhardt, Jr. gets his first win of the season. Junior loves Texas, Texas loves him. Junior has won there before, and sat on the pole for this race last year. He seems to excel on these types of race tracks, and I have a feeling he will do just that on Sunday. So I predict we'll see Dale Earnhardt Jr. in Victory Lane this weekend.

Charlotte:

Charlotte is whooping us all by sticking to her guns and predicting:

Dale Jr.

Don:

New track surface, new nose on the Chevies and a lot of unknown factors.

This week I will stick my neck out and pick Tony Stewart for the win. My top five as follows:

1. Tony Stewart

2. Sterling Marlin

3. Jimmy Spencer

4. Jeff Gordon

5. Bobby Labonte

The Fords may run well here but I have my doubts. Will the extra 1 1/4" help Chevy? Will it be a Dodge romp?

Stewart is tough on the quad ovals and if he gets his car working on the bottom, look out. Jeff Gordon has had the Chevy to beat but Texas hasn't been one of his better tracks. Marlin is for real, Spencer will run tough or crash and burn. Bobby Labonte just seems to sneak into the top five while no one is looking.

Lisa:

Just before my computer blew up, I was running some numbers to choose this week's winner. The last thing I saw as the computer froze up and said it's last goodbyes was the number 18.

Since this week it's Texas and #18 is Bobby Labonte who is from Texas, it must be a sign!!

Bobby Labonte will be your race winner on Sunday.

Rob:

Texas is crazy fast. Guys like Jeff Burton say they had to stop in practice after 12-15 laps to catch their breath. The new surface will leave the Goodyear reps scratching their heads.

The winner will be the guy who gets the best break on tire wear and the guy who can hold his breath the longest. When I think of who has the most guts and isn't afraid to drive it in as far as it can fly, I think of:

Ryan Newman

The veterans will have too much respect for the speed to push it this week. Look for Kurt Busch and Jimmie Johnson to show strong. The young guys will prevail.

I hope and pray for safe racing this weekend!

LAST WEEK"S WINNER- Brian N.!!:

I'm really new at this writing about my predictions for the race at Texas but here it goes. After pondering the race during the Easter break, I came to a conclusion. Dale Jr. is slowly creeping his way up the point standings. They are at a track that he just loves and I am going out on a limb and predicting him as the winner.

Furthermore, I would like to give my predictions on the rest of the top five just for fun. I am going with Ricky Rudd to finish second. He is starting to come around and I feel he will have a good run. I would have to go with Sterling Marlin to finish third just for the fact that he has found a way to finish in the top ten every week. I am going with Matt Kenseth to finish fourth because he has had a decent year so far and I feel he will continue to do so. Finally, to round out the top five I would have to include Tony Stewart. He always finds a way to get good finishes week after week. So there you have it. Good luck to all the other race fans out there rooting for there favorite drivers.
